Yellow Perch

Recipe

Pan-Fried Yellow Perch

Ingredients 

 

1 lb. thawed JOF Yellow Perch fillets (Domestic or European)

1 cup Fry Krisp Krispy Fish Mix

1 tbsp of seasoning salt

1 cup of canola oil

1 lemon, plus extra lemon wedges for serving

Tartar sauce of your choice

 

 

Cooking Instructions

Step 1: Thaw JOF Yellow Perch fillets (if frozen)

Either overnight in the refrigerator or in a strainer under cold, running water.

Step 2: Prepare Fry Krisp Breading

Scoop one cup of breading and 1 tbsp of seasoning salt in a shallow bowl.

Step 3: Bread the fillets

Simply toss the fillets in the breading and ensure they are completely covered.

Step 4: Heat a fry pan to medium high.

Ideally use a food thermometer to get the canola oil between 350F-375F.

Step 5: Time to pan-fry!

Place a coated fillet in the hot pan skin side up. Flip fillet to cook the second side (approx. 1-2 minutes per side).

Step 6: Remove fillet and drain on a paper towel before serving

Step 7: Serve & Enjoy!!!

Plate the fillets and serve with lemon wedges & tatar sauce.
